As you sit and rock your little miracle and look down at that precious face you’ll wonder how you can possibly remember all the little things that have become so dear to you. You don’t want to forget a thing.

Baby photography will help you remember this once-in-a-lifetime stage in your and your baby’s life. With our Baby Plan you’ll be able to document all the important milestones in your baby’s entire first year.
Is Your Baby a Newborn?
If your baby is brand new then we’ve got a deal for you. Hop on over to our newborn page and we’ll give you all the information you’ll need. If your baby is 4 weeks or older, though, keep reading!
With our Baby Plan we photography your baby at 3, 6, 9 & 12 months of age (and we add a free newborn session if you call us early enough, but check that out on the newborn page!). Throughout the year we will expertly lead you through the process of having your baby photographed while we create images you will absolutely love.
The pictures we create for you will be the ones you love that you NEVER put away.
They’ll be in a permanent spot somewhere in your home, maybe your office. You’ll glance at them every day and that will nudge to the surface some of the wonderful moments during your child’s growing up years. Your heart will warm and the day will lift.
That is what pictures you love will do for you.

How the Baby Plan Sessions Work
Each session is geared to a milestone
Keep reading for more information about each milestone. Each session lasts approximately one hour, with plenty of time allotted for the unexpected.
You are welcome to bring in props and, of course, outfits, to personalize each session. We also have a vast prop closet with lots of choices – hats, blankets, backgrounds, little people furniture and much more. No worries – we’ll work with you to select the items that will work best for you. Looking for ideas on what to bring? We have some great Session Planning booklets and checklists for each session that we will share with you. But here are a few ideas:
- Always bring a couple of changes of clothes. We’ll give you a checklist of choices that work best (and those that don’t).
- A crib quilt or favorite blankie
- Hats, headbands and other headpieces
- A uniform or other items to symbolize Mom or Dad’s profession. Maybe Mom’s a police officer or Dad’s with the armed forces. Bring all that gear & we’ll build a set on the spot!
- Props to celebrate a special hobby. Maybe you love the beach? Or books? Or you collect stuffed animals. Whatever the collection, bring it along!
- Are you sports fans? Have a sports shirt? Hat? Bring it. We have footballs, baseballs, mitts and bats, soccer balls and hockey pucks but bring anything else you want to include.
Family & Sibling Pictures
You are welcome to add siblings, pets or the entire family to a picture at one of your baby plan sessions. We strongly suggest either the 6 month or 9 month session. The baby will be sitting up by then (but not yet walking which can be a huge distraction for them!) and the baby and sibling(s) will have developed more of a relationship. Pets – we love them and love to have them but we ask that if you include a pet that you do so only if the pet is well behaved and we also ask that someone come with you who can remove the pet from the studio immediately after pictures.
Session Details
3 Month Session
Baby is (usually) holding his or her head up. And, getting a little chubbier, curious about the world, always thinking, often smiling and sometimes giggling, drooling up a storm and in love with Mom & Dad. Baby’s attention span and endurance at this session is a little limited – we often only have 30-45 minutes before baby starts to tire. We start with a diaper cover (supplied by us) and capture the classic 3 month head and shoulders pose. Time for 1-2 outfits at most. Keep clothing simple as babies are generally reclining most of the time during this session and simpler clothes tend to work best.
6 Month Session
Sitting unassisted. Baby is more independent now and will quite often smile at will. They love being the center of attention and often are not yet mobile which can make for the ideal subject! Some call this their very favorite session – baby enjoys our company as much as we do theirs! There are lots of options for this session, we have props galore to select from – everything from hats tutus (for the girls) to bathtubs, aviator sets, all kids of little people furniture & more. Time for 1-2 outfits – simple is still best. Be sure that skirts and dresses fit around little girl diapers.
9 Month Session
Baby is standing, holding on – looking at the world from a completely different point of view. He or she is also smart, funny, busy, curious. Did I mention busy? If standing well, that new thing may be all your baby wants to do. Or he or she may be crawling like mad and happy as a clam at being so mobile. Babies at this age may experience some ‘stranger anxiety’ or just be very attached to mom or dad. We’ve found that by taking it slow and spending time at the start of the session playing we can often overcome most initial hesitation or fear. No more diaper pictures. Bring 2-4 outfits as baby will be clothed for this session and the next. Try to bring a selection of colors. Costumes, other special outfits and personal props are always welcome!
12 Month Session
Baby is standing, possibly unassisted, may not be quite there, may be running all over the place. They learn so fast, it’s hard to predict from one day to the next. But, we’re ready for anything! One thing is fairly certain – baby is on the move, very busy and full of personality at this age. This is also – sigh – the last session of the baby plan. So sad to see them graduate but so happy to see them growing up and turning into such special little people! We suggest 2-4 outfits, including something more formal for a first year picture and something to wear for the cake smash (don’t forget the cake!).

Don’t Wait! Sign up right away – at the very least we’ll make sure that we reserve a spot for you in the month that you’re due. My baby was just born. When should I call?
Call us right now! If you sign up before your baby is under 4 weeks old we may be able to add on (if time in our schedule permits) a FREE newborn session. For details about this awesome session, click here.
My baby has a skin problem. Should I wait to sign up?
It’s a trick question, right? Almost all babies have some kind of skin problem going on and we never know when it will clear up. Besides, with expert retouching on any purchased portrait you’ll see flawless baby skin, just as it should be.
Do you travel? I can't imagine getting out of the house right now.
All our sessions are done in our beautiful studio located in Amherst. It’s easy to get to and there’s lots of free parking. You don’t need to clean your house or make room for all our gear – all you have to do is show up at our place. In the studio we have everything you’ll need to be comfortable including a changing area, toys for the siblings and snacks for you. We keep things warm enough in the camera room for a newborn to be comfortably naked. You may sweat a little but your baby will love it.
We have everything we’ll need close at hand including our vast prop closet, to create images that you will love and that will be personally you. If having a photographer travel to your home is a deal-breaker, though, then we are probably not the studio for you.
When are you open?
We are generally open Tuesdays-Saturdays, from 10am to 5pm. Please call to set up a session or pickup! Our hours vary based on appointment schedules, and we would not want to miss you!
How much is this going to cost me?
There are two parts to our pricing, the session fee and portrait pricing.
The session fee covers our time and talent in the camera room, or time to process your images in preparation for your review and our time to review your images with you. We mentioned earlier that the session fee for all your baby plan sessions (including the newborn if you join us early enough) is just $99 – over 65% off our regular pricing.
For portrait pricing, we have lots of options, too numerous to list here so we’ll provide some ballpark figures. Some people spend more, some spend less than the figures here, depending on their wants and needs.
- Our gift portraits (8×10 and smaller) are meticulously retouched, professional sealed and mounted, wrapped in glassine and delivered to you in a gift box with a personalized bag that you’ll re-use again and again; prices start at $135. Wall portraits are hand-finished and sealed, available in 2 finishes and gallery wrapped or framed with your choice of 4 moldings; prices start at $339.
- Clients who join us for a single session usually spend $800-$1000 in packages that may include items such as a wall piece, session album, gift portraits and a multimedia slideshow.
- Our baby plan clients generally spend $400 – $700 per session over the life of their plan in packages that may include items such as albums or books, gift portraits, framed pieces, custom announcement cards, multimedia slideshows and digital negatives.
I'm not sure about investing in pictures right now. With kids there are a lot of expenses.
Investing in photography is a choice. I never had a client say to me “Boy do I wish I didn’t choose to remember my babies first year in photographs.” I know it sounds a little sarcastic, but I really do mean it in the most sincere way. Our memories fade with time and I look back at my children’s albums and baby books with such a full heart, it is a gift I am happy to give to others…the gift of remembering how tiny and precious our little ones are; tiny faces, tiny fingers, tiny toes, Photography is one of the few investments that is guaranteed to be worth more years from now.
That said, we do understand the financial reality families face these days. Been there. So, we offer several payment options – Visa, MC, American Express, Discover, checks, cash, We also allow time payments over the year. This is HUGE for many of our clients – select the images you like, we’ll help you find the package that’s best for you and then we’ll craft a payment plan that will fit your budget. It’s not a layaway, take your pictures home and pay over time. How cool is that?
