Easter Pictures Already? Seriously?

You’re still recovering from the holidays, winter is sort of digging in, and Easter pictures probably aren’t front and center right now. Here’s 3 reasons why you might want to consider signing up for Easter pictures today:

1. Easter is early this year, It’s on March 27. That’s right, March. I like it better when Easter is in April but what can you do? Knowing how fast the holidays came and went you can only assume that March will be here before you know it. Probably not fast enough, after all this is winter. But, you know you’ll be shocked when it arrives. You don’t want to be behind the 8 ball. Keep reading…
2. We’re offering early-bird incentives for signing up now. Keep reading…
3. You’re here already. Something caught your eye to get this far. Do you want to put this aside and then try to remember where the link was, only to come back to it just before Easter when you have no time to plan? Do you HATE when you actually thought about doing something early, didn’t act on it and ended up behind? Me too. This year can be different, though. You guessed it, keep reading…

Why Not Just Take Your Own Easter Pictures?

Allow me to paint a scenario. Because I hear stories like this all the time. The numbers and the players may change but pieces may sound familiar…

(Fictional Story)

You have 3 beautiful children, all with different yet equally charming personalities. Like most moms, you snap pictures of your kids all the time – of the cute, funny, sweet and quite often spontaneous things that they do. But, this Easter you would really love something a little more special than the ones you usually snap, and most of all you would absolutely love an awesome picture of all of them together. You hunt for the perfect clothes, pick the perfect time and then explain your plan to the crew. Immediately the two who are old enough to understand decide they don’t want to participate. But you persevere and promise goodies if they do well. You get everyone dressed. You find the perfect spot, sit them down together and tell them to ‘say cheese.’ The smallest starts screaming because he feels like his sister is strangling him, which she is. The oldest is giving you that fake smile. You adjust the middle child’s grip on the baby and hop around like a nut to seize their collective attention. You remind them of the promised goodies. They’re not even all looking in the same direction, let alone all looking at the camera at the same time with that genuine adorable smile that you’ve seen on each of them a thousand times before. They pretty quickly get tired of the whole thing. That attention-span problem children have. The baby is wandering off, the middle child is sullen because she feels picked on and the oldest child still has that crazy smile pasted to his face, bless his heart. Right now this is the furthest thing from what you had envisioned as a bonding experience, let alone one you want to capture for all eternity.

If this Sounds at all Familiar…

It’s because it’s truly difficult to get good pictures of children, let alone awesome pictures – pictures that are well exposed, have good color, with a great setting, coordinated clothes, and genuine expressions on all the participants. Unless it’s something you do every day. I know, because I’ve been photographing babies, children and their families professionally for over 15 years.

So Why Hire Us to Take Your Pictures?

1. Knowledge and experience. We know how to prepare you for the session, how to connect with children so they will respond well, how to put them into situations they will be comfortable in and how to elicit the genuine expressions we all love.
2. All that equipment that we have – we know how to use it all intimately and that practically guarantees well exposed, properly color balanced photographs every time, without having to think about it. So we can focus all our attention on you and your children. We – and you – don’t need to worry about the technical aspect of things. You may not recognize proper exposure when you see it but you will appreciate a well balanced photograph every time.
3. The setting. Every year we spend weeks, and a significant financial investment, in creating a set that has beauty and depth and is realistic. For the third year in a row we will bring a Spring pond to life right in our temperature-controlled camera room. No need to worry about whether Mother Nature will cooperate. And lots of gorgeous, timeless props to both keep your child occupied and add to the depth and realism of your portraits.
4. The baby bunnies and ducks – remember I mentioned that we know how to put your children into situations that elicit genuine expressions? Well, I’m pretty good at that without the animals but add them and I have a really super weapon in my arsenal of tricks. Children love baby animals, and baby animals – at least the ones we use – love them.
5. All of the products we offer – from wall and gift portraits to photo cards and mini books (and lots more!) – are meticulously created. We use nothing but the finest materials and work with the very best vendors in the business to provide you with hand crafted, beautiful works of art that you’ll be proud to display in your home or gift to family and friends. Read more about what we offer in our guide.
There is quite possibly nothing cuter than your beautiful children, happy as little clams with cute-as-a-button baby bunnies and ducks in a gorgeous setting.

The pictures we create for you will be the ones you love that you NEVER put away.

They’ll be in a permanent spot somewhere in your home, maybe your office. You’ll glance at them every day and that will nudge to the surface some of the wonderful moments during your child’s growing up years. Your heart will warm and the day will lift.

That is what pictures you love will do for you.

Is there ANY other investment that increases in value over time like that?

How It Works

Sessions are 30 minutes in length. Arrive 15 minutes early so your children can meet the animals and you can make any final preparations. During the session, we keep things fun & light. We know how to put everyone at ease and how to bring out the emotions you are looking for. We have a child, bunny and duck wrangler on hand to make sure everyone stays safe. View your pictures and select your package right after the session so you get everything done the same day. If you don’t have time to view the same day, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment immediately after your session.

What to Wear

View the slide show below for clothing ideas from our past Easter promotions. This year’s set can be dressed up or done as a casual setting. Please keep clothing simple with solid colors. Bold colors and large patterns distract the eye and the most important part of your portrait…Your Children!

I Still Have Questions

(Toggle each question below for the answer)

How many pictures will I see?
We strive to take multiple pictures of multiple poses. If you have more than one child, we will photograph the children together and separately as well. Expect to have 20 – 40 images to choose from.
I noticed that in a lot of pictures the children aren't looking at the camera. Will I get some smiles? I love genuine smiles.
No one loves a genuine expression from a child more than me. Having the child (or children) all looking in the same direction with a genuine smile is always one of the pictures I work for. But, so many of the pictures that my parents love the best are of their children interacting with the animals so you’ll see a lot of those samples here.
My child is under 1 year old. Can I sign him up?
In order to be safe on the set, a baby must be able to sit solidly unassisted.
My child has a rash. Will you be able to touch that up?
We provide expert retouching on anything that you purchase.
Do the bunnies & ducks scratch?
Ducks don’t scratch at all but bunnies can scratch so we are super careful with them and with your children. We usually will put the bunnies in a basket or just beside the child to start. We don’t ask a child to hold the bunnies unless they and we are absolutely comfortable. The bunnies we use are also very friendly and used to petting – we borrow them from a local petting zoo and they only bring along animals that are super friendly. We also have a bunny and a duck wrangler in the camera room at all times, just focusing on the safety of both the animals and your child. We will ask you to sign a release just before the session but we have never had an issue and we have been offering bunny and duck sessions for years.
What is this going to cost me?

There are 2 parts to our pricing, the session fee and portrait pricing. See Incentive Section above for info on the session fee. For portrait pricing, we offer A La Carte pricing as well as a number of packages, which offer discounts of 20% to 50% built in. The following figures offer samples of our price points and ballpark estimates of what our clients usually spend at the Bunny & Duck sessions:

  • If you are looking for a couple of gift portraits (8×10 or smaller), expect to spend just under $200.
  • Wall portraits are hand finished and framed and ready to hang on your wall; they come in 2 finishes and start at $339.
  • Session books are meticulously created and beautiful to hold; they start with 20 of your favorite images at $599.
  • Most people who join us for the Bunnies & Ducks sessions generally spend $300 – $500 in portrait products.

In the $300 price range a typical package includes 5 gift portaits (8×10 or smaller) and a single pose. Additional poses are $25.

In the $500 price range our most popular package includes a small wall piece, 2 gift portraits and 2 high res digital files.

What do you do with the bunnies and ducks after the day is over?
The bunnies come to us From McDonny’s Traveling Petting Zoo in Derry, NH so they return home to their families. The ducklings, who come to us as new hatchlings from Texas join the bunnies and we always hear they are very happy in their new home.
I still have more questions.

What if I’m Not Happy?

guarantee This is our guarantee – you must be absolutely thrilled with the portraits we create for you and your family. Love them, or – you’ll get every penny back. There is NO risk to you. You have NOTHING to lose. And everything to gain. But we think you’re going to love what we do for you…

Here’s what one of our clients, Shannon & James, had to say about their experiences with us:
We have been going to Gail and Dom since our daughter Samantha was 3 months old. We went for the special that was being offered at the time and did not intend on making it a family commitment but that is exactly what Gail and Dom have become. Samantha is now 7 and our youngest, Lexi, is 3. We have no idea what we would do without them!

Whatever You Do, Do NOT Do What Most People Do!

DO NOT Put This Off Until Tomorrow!

Remember, this is a one-day only event and we usually book EVERY available slot and then maintain a waiting list. Don’t wait to sign up – call as soon as you can! It’s human nature to put things aside that we keep meaning to get back to but then life often gets in the way and the next thing you know, time has passed and it’s March 12! So if you’re interested please don’t miss out!
Sincerely,
Gail Morello, Owner Pixel Perfect Photography
P.S. Remember, again – most people will put this aside and “get back to it later, with good intentions.” Please, don’t let this be you!
